U.S. Government Data Protection and Privacy Regulations - Big Changes Coming
Big changes are coming as a result of rollout of CMMC and President Biden's New Executive Order On May 12, 2021, President Joe Biden signed an Executive Order (EO) to improve the U.S.'s cybersecurity and protect federal networks. The EO is the most recent action in the Biden Administration's plan to overhaul U.S. cybersecurity strategy and leadership but is far from the first U.S. government mandate on cybersecurity - other executive orders and standards abound. The March 12 EO does introduce additional oversight and response capabilities by focusing on several key areas of much needed security of our national assets. This EO in combination with the Department of Defense's (DOD) rollout of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) will be a dramatic change and improve the security of the defense supply chain (DSC) and the defense industrial base (DIB). This course will focus on the key initiatives of the EO as well as how the CMMC will affect those who do business with the U.S. Government. Objectives Understand the key initiatives described in the new Cybersecurity Executive Order and how they will impact you Understand the key implications of CMMC and how they will affect you Understand the steps your company can take today in order to best positioned to be compliant with the new EO and CMMC Insights on how this will affect the DSC and DIB.

Performance of Government Contracts
First Year Contract Administrator
This is the third webinar in our four-part First Year Contract Administrator series. In this session, we will identify several issues contract administrators will encounter in everyday performance of Government contracts. We will focus on performance management, focusing on topics such as evolving cyber requirements and requirements surrounding the integrity of the supply chain. We will provide an introduction to the myriad of compliance obligations and socioeconomic programs that are as much a part of Government contracts as the underlying supply or service being procured. We will also discuss subcontract management from the perspective of both prime and subcontractors. Finally, we will cover the Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS) - what it is, why it is important, and what to do about it. Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, students will be able to identify effective strategies for meeting all performance obligations under Government contracts. Students will be prepared to implement and follow compliance programs to meet the multitude of requirements in the contract beyond producing deliverables. Students will also be prepared to address subcontracting issues both as a prime contractor managing a subcontractor, and a subcontractor managing a relationship with a prime. Finally, students will understand the performance rating system, and what to do if they receive an unfavorable rating. Series Description: This series will introduce contract administration professionals to the many unique aspects of Government contracting. Students will learn the language of Government contracts, and will become familiar with the entire contracting process, from registering as a Government contractor and competing for Government awards to appealing unfavorable Government decisions both in award and administration of contracts. Students will also come away with some helpful practice tips that will help them avoid common pitfalls when performing their contract administration.
