Overview

This workshop is designed to assist you in contractor selection and to provide insight on how the process works.

Contractor selection is the most important (and troublesome) phase of the contracting process. Contractor selection can make or break a government program, project, or operation. With the right partner, a government agency can overcome many hurdles in the acquisition process. With the wrong partner, the agency might fail to achieve its objectives — even if it does everything else right. Today, despite the reforms of the 1900's, many agencies still struggle with contractor selection. Agency processes are often complex, labor-intensive and time-consuming. And they may not be compliant with the applicable rules. In this seminar, Vern Edwards, an internationally recognized authority on contractor selection, will outline the secrets of designing simple, efficient, speedy, effective, and defensible contractor selection processes. The seminar will focus on contractor selections that must be conducted in accordance with FAR Subpart 8.4; Parts 13 and 15; and Subpart 16.5.
