It’s a given our cost accounting practices dictate Government contract accounting and accumulation. Additionally, they serve as the foundation for our contract pricing and reporting. That’s right, from contract pricing through contract close out, our cost accounting practices are the foundation of cost-based acquisition. Yet what is a cost accounting practice and what happens when we change our cost accounting practices?

This series will unpack cost accounting practices. Exploring the contract accounting, pricing, and compliance implications. We’ll begin by defining cost accounting practices, comparing to our financial accounting, and illustrating with examples.  After establishing the basics, we’ll explore the implications for CAS and non-CAS covered contracts.

First offered in March 2022, this series will include new examples and information not previously addressed to include:  intercompany transactions and home office allocations.

Each 90-minute session will acquaint the participant with a different aspect of cost accounting practices and offer 1.5 hours of CPE. We’ll navigate the lifecycle of cost accounting practices from defining, identifying changes, measuring the changes, and supporting customer review and audits to support settlement alternatives.

Register for the entire series or join us for an individual webinar that suits your business needs. Each session will briefly recap the material covered in previous session(s) and then delve into new material to enable a comprehensive discussion of the unique cost accounting practices requirements imposed by Uncle Sam.
