This is session 2 of 4 in the Compensation Accounting Series.

FAR expansively defines compensation to include all remuneration paid currently or accrued, in whatever form and whether paid immediately or deferred, for services rendered by employees to the contractor. In this webinar we will describe the categories of compensation cost; Discuss the five general criteria required for allowable employee compensation; Identify some types of unallowable compensation activities; Highlight special consideration applied to “owners;” and Delve into compensation reasonableness.  

Learning Objectives: In this session, participants will become familiar with FAR Part 31.205-6, Compensation for personal services. They will learn when FAR Part 31 is applicable to contracts; be able to identify the five factors for cost allowability, and identify FAR prescribed unallowable activities.  Participants will also be able to distinguish when and where the cost principle incorporates CAS and the implications no CAS and non CAS-covered contractors.
