Hardly any other topic gathers discussion in the Government contracting community more than Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). While CAS generally applies to medium to large-sized organizations, quickly-expanding small and medium-sized firms need to begin to focus on the requirements for CAS before they have a CAS-covered contract. This series will explore the background behind CAS, the reasons for becoming knowledgeable about CAS and related cost principles, as well as an exploration of basic CAS standards and modified CAS requirements.
