March 19, Noon-1:00 pm ET - FAR Part 30, Cost Accounting Standards and Admin - This is Session 9 of the Foundations of the FAR webinar series. This session will cover Part 30 - Cost Accounting Standards Administration. Presenter William Keating will discuss how CAS applicability works within the framework of the FAR including requirements in certain contracts. Part 30 This part describes policies and procedures for applying the Cost Accounting Standards Board (CASB) rules and regulations to negotiated contracts and subcontracts. This part does not apply to sealed bid contracts or to any contract with a small business concern. Establishing the foundations of FAR Part 31, we'll examine the applicability, accounting, and allowability requirements -- What they are and when they are triggered. The session with culminate with the two sets of rules -- expressly unallowable and conditionally allowable costs - and they're related directly associated costs. Finally, we'll look at the 6 "reserved" cost principles. Specifically, FAR 31.201 through FAR 31.204 will be examined.

Subchapter E, General Contracting Requirements provides the base for fiscal standard principles, procedures, administration, taxes, and contract financing. This section also deals with patents, data, and copyrights; bonds and insurance; and protests, disputes, and appeals. This session will address cost accounting, payments, certifications, issues of compliance and non-compliance, and contract modifications as laid down in Part 52.
