Session I - “Lead, Follow, or Get Out of the Way”
Before you can increase your ability to achieve results through effective leadership, it is important to compare and contrast the challenges faced by leaders in government organizations versus contracting organizations and contracting teams. Together, we’ll analyze the predominant leadership styles used. In government versus contracting organizations today. We will also explore the key competencies of collaborative leadership in contracting partnerships.
Session II - “Getting Work Done Through Others (You’ve Got to Be Kidding Me!)”
Organizations are really just groups of people trying to get something done. Is there a difference in how government organizations and contractor organizations get work done? We will address how to achieve results through effective leadership by looking at the interpersonal relationships between leaders and others that can be refined or developed for successful collaboration with special attention to the nuanced differences in government and contraction organizations. Knowing that the people through which you need to get results may not all report to you, we will define methods of communication that can support or detract from collaborative efforts within and across organization types and discuss how to create a plan that can increase the success of a collaborative relationships for strategic results in organizations.
