As of September 8, 2009, federal contractors and subcontractors are required to use E-Verify for all new hires and existing employees working on federal contracts if their contract includes the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) E-Verify clause. E-Verify is a fast, free and easy to use Internet-based system that allows employers to verify the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

In this session we’ll cover what contracts are affected by the FAR E-Verify clause and just what this clause is. When do you have to enroll and when do you have to start creating cases in E-Verify for your new hires? When do you create cases for those existing employees performing direct work on the federal contract? Whether you are seeking a federal contract, have recently been awarded a contract or have one now...you’ll want to attend this information filled session. 

Series Description: 
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will conduct a three- part webinar series that surrounds employment eligibility verification. Everything starts with the Form I-9, which will be the first session. E-Verify, the Form I-9’s companion, will be the 2nd webinar which is a free web-based program that compares information from an employee's Form I-9 to data from U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration records to confirm employment eligibility. The final session will dive deeper into E-Verify for those federal contractors that have been awarded a federal contract that contains the FAR E-Verify clause.
