  • Jerry Howe
    Executive Vice President & General Counsel, Leidos
    Jerald S. Howe, Jr. is a Leidos executive vice president and the company’s general counsel. Howe has responsibility for legal, contracts, corporate governance, environmental health and safety, and administrative oversight of the ethics and compliance and internal audit functions. He joined Leidos in July 2017 after serving as partner at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP (Fried Frank) where he was a member of the firm’s government contracts, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and aerospace and defense practices.

    Howe is an accomplished leader with nearly 35 years of experience advising and representing clients in government contracts litigation, investigations, and bid protests as well as in M&A and private equity transactions. His experience includes the aerospace, defense, intelligence, and government services sectors.
    Howe received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review; his honors M.A. in modern history and economics from Oxford University, where he was a Sachs Scholar; and his A.B. from Princeton University and its School of Public and International Affairs.

    Derek Shaw is a Director in the Government Contractor Advisory Services practice and brings to BDO more than 27 years of Finance experience with focus on Government Finance & Compliance in the Aerospace & Defense sectors. This includes a broad range of Government contracting & compliance matters, including Federal Acquisition Regulations, Cost Accounting Standards, TINA, Government Business Systems controls, and Restructuring. Derek has held senior management positions with large corporations, and also has extensive hands-on experience with small and mid-sized contractors, including SDB/8a firms.

    Derek has extensive experience in mergers & acquisitions focusing on government contracting aspects, including restructuring proposal development. Derek has also been a frequent speaker at training conferences and has developed and delivered training programs covering various government contracting topics.
