April 24, 11:00am-Noon EDT - This is Session 2 of a 3 part series. E-Verify.. the Form I-9s companion will be the topic in this 2nd session of a 3 part series. E-Verify is the free web-based service administered by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) and the Social Security Administration (SSA) that allows enrolled employers to electronically verify the employment eligibility of their new hires. From the federal perspective, E-Verify is voluntary for most users although mandatory, in some form or fashion, in over 20 states and for a host of federal contractors. We'll review recent enhancements, when's the earliest you can create a case in E-Verify, the tentative non-confirmation process, how you can check your `own' work eligibility (myE-Verify) along with some advanced good to know tips. Series Description: U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will conduct a three- part webinar series that surrounds employment eligibility verification. Everything starts with the Form I-9, which will be the first session. E-Verify, the Form I-9's companion, will be the 2nd webinar which is a free web-based program that compares information from an employee's Form I-9 to data from U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration records to confirm employment eligibility. The final session will dive deeper into E-Verify for those federal contractors that have been awarded a federal contract that contains the FAR E-Verify clause.

E-Verify is a fast, free and easy to use Internet-based system that allows employers to verify the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States. In this session we'll cover what contracts are affected by the FAR E-Verify clause and just what is this clause? When do you have to enroll and when do you have to start creating cases in E-Verify for your new hires? When do you create cases for those existing employees performing direct work on the federal contract?
