This new, one-day course will explore the problems and opportunities arising from bankruptcy issues in a government contract.  Whether from the agency, sub or prime contractor perspective, this new course will provide practical insights as it delves into how the specter of bankruptcy affects all involved parties. 
 
Beginning with a bankruptcy overview, the course will then address the impact on government contracting issues such as terminations, FAR bankruptcy clause, novation, assignment of government contract receivables and subcontractor rights when a prime contractor files for bankruptcy, among other related issues

Larry Block-Mr. Block is a partner and Chair of the Government Contracts Group at Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP.  Mr. Block has significant expertise in government contract consultation and litigation.  Mr. Block also maintains a bankruptcy and business litigation practice that requires his regular appearance in state and federal courts in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia

Janet Nesse-Mrs. Nesse is a partner at Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP.  She is a member of the Bankruptcy and Creditors Rights group and serves as a Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 Trustee in cases in Maryland and the District of Columbia.  Mrs. Nesse also litigates in the state and federal courts of Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia and she works extensively on cases involving government contractors, including companies owned by minority and disadvantaged individuals.
